These MIDI files are offered by Victor Gomersall. All these are midi files performed by Victor, some from original orchestral scores or piano music by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Strauss, Lehar and many other famous composers, a few are Victor's tentative original compositions, and some are his arrangements of light music and popular songs from the twenties, thirties and forties. Please note, I am an amateur, as you will no doubt hear.
All my midi files are Roland General Midi compatible, but they do require a minimum of 16 midi channels and 31 note polyphony. They play quite nicely on a Creative SoundBlaster PCI 64 soundcard, and even better on Roland Sound Canvas cards or Edirol Studio Canvas modules. You really do need a decent amplifier and speakers connected to your audio outputs to do justice to this music!
NEW in May 2007! Full scores of Victor's compositions, and of several of his arrangements of classical, easy-listening, and jazz music. These web pages feature Sibelius Scorch, which enables you to view and print the full musical score, as well as listen to it or save the score onto your hard disk.
There are more MIDI files on the Musical Discovery Web Site. This site describes MIDI software for teaching the theory of music, with many other features. It provides "Composing Tools" to help you compose your own music, a comprehensive database of information about composers, ensembles, categories and periods of music, and heaps of MIDI music to listen to, all thoroughly catalogued in the database.
