As well as his role in developing the Symphony and Concerto, Corelli is also known as the founder of modern violin technique. He met Handel when Handel visited Rome, and introduced the style of the concerto grosso to him.

He composed several trio sonatas, some solo violin pieces, several 'concerti grossi', and a jig or 'Giga' or 'Gigue', which is available on Music Discovery played on the  harpsichord.
