Melody and Transposition
Creating a memorable melody is a real skill. Contrast random computer-generated tunes with tunes written by real people! Learn how to transpose. Assemble a composition.
Introduction After the introductory screen, which demonstrates how you need to keep on generating new computer-generated tunes dozens of times, before you get one which is even slightly pleasing, there is a screen teaching a systematic method for transposing a tune, a screen allowing you to coax the computer into generating nice melodic and rhythmic fragments, and a composing board for assembling fragments into a finished composition.

The illustration below is from the transposing screen.    (Please note that there is another part of Musical Discovery which does automatic transposition of any or all tracks in any piece of music)
