Music for Listening. Themes from the great masters, and from the folk and traditional repertoire.
Ever heard a tune that you know, but can't name it?  Listen to these themes, test yourself with the tune recognition screen, and you'll soon be able to name every one.
Or search for the identity of the tune in your head, by typing onto the staff the first 10 notes (in any key),  and ask Musical Discovery to find it in its database.
Introduction A few of the themes stored in Musical Discovery's database are listed below.  There are themes from many of the most famous symphonies, concertos and chamber music, as well as from solo piano works.   You can add as many more themes to this collection as you wish. You may write them yourself onto the staff screen, using the mouse, or else import them from external MIDI files.

Musical Discovery also has a practice screen for tune recognition, which plays a tune selected by the computer at random from its database. It lists 20 tune titles (with composers where applicable) on the screen, one of which is the tune being played. You must click on the title you are hearing, and the computer will keep score of your right and wrong answers.
