Conversion between the Celsius (or centigrade) and the Fahrenheit scales. The Celsius scale is based on a range of exactly 100 degrees between the freezing point of water (= 0 degrees Centigrade) and the boiling point of water (100 degrees Centigrade). The Fahrenheit scale is based on 100 degrees between the rather vaguer values of Very Cold Weather (0 degrees Fahrenheit) and a rough approximation to the human body temperature (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit). |
